About The Position

The basic purpose of nursing is to provide safe, competent nursing care for patients in accordance with facility policies, standards, and philosophy. Additionally, nursing will provide professional leadership and support to the healthcare team. The concepts of Patient Centered Care will provide the foundation for all nursing care. Demonstrates Service Excellence standards at all times. The Standards of Practice set forth by the professional nursing associations will provide guidelines for the competent, safe and professional practice. The Clinical Supervisor will assume shift responsibility and accountability for the planning and provision of direct and indirect nursing care to the patient, family, care partner and appropriate others. Coordinate multi-disciplinary team members, direct and facilitate nursing staff in obtaining safe, optimal healthcare outcomes. Support activities that meet the facility vision, mission and goals. Provide professional leadership and support to the healthcare team. Oversee and guide employees that are under his/her supervision. The concepts of patient centered care will provide the foundation for all nursing care.

Requirements

  • A current Texas nursing license or compact is required upon hire.
  • Two years experience in acute care specialty nursing.
  • RQI BLS, ACLS and PALS provided at hire. Must maintain all certifications required by area of supervision.
  • Must maintain all clinical competencies for area of supervision. Must be clinically competent in area of population served.
  • Must demonstrate knowledge and ability to work effectively with all levels of personnel.
  • Must possess excellent communication skills and demonstrate team leadership.
  • Must have the ability to problem solve and think critically.
  • Must possess basic computer application skills.
  • Must successfully pass any pre-employment assessment(s) required by the facility.

Nice To Haves

  • BSN preferred.
  • One year charge nurse or supervisory experience preferred.
  • National certification in area of supervision preferred (i.e. CCRN, PCCN)
