About the Role This Clinical Support Associate position supports a busy primary care team at our Waukesha Sunset Drive Clinic. The role works closely with three primary care providers in a team-rooming model, focusing primarily on patient care and rooming responsibilities. The RN in the clinic manages most in-basket work, allowing this role to stay engaged in direct patient interaction throughout the day. Requirements

  • Medical Assistant, EMT, or LPN experience preferred
  • Prior clinic or patient care experience preferred
  • Epic experience preferred
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced primary care environment
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Completion of Medical Assistant, EMT, LPN, or other equivalent clinical training program
  • 1 Year of experience

Responsibilities

  • Room patients and prepare them for provider visits
  • Obtain vital signs and document patient information in Epic
  • Assist with patient care needs and clinic workflow
  • Support providers during visits and procedures as needed
  • Collaborate with coworkers to support the clinic team and patient flow
  • Maintain accurate documentation and patient records
  • Provides direct care to patients under the supervision and delegation of the Nurse Practitioner, Physician Assistant or Physician within ProHealth Medical Group.
  • Provides care in partnership with the patient and their family, with the goal of supporting an optimal healing community.
  • Efficiently prepare exam rooms by setting up proper equipment and supplies, following standard rooming workflows to prepare patients for provider exams, obtaining vital signs, health history verification, and ensuring accurate documentation in the EMR
  • Clean exam rooms after each patient visit and maintain sufficient stock of supplies.
  • Answer patient calls, obtain medical information, report test results, administer medications and vaccinations, prepare sterile fields, and assist with procedures as directed by providers.
  • Perform therapeutic treatments, health screenings, specimen collection, Point of Care testing, and assist with splints or wound care under supervision.
  • Respond to urgent situations, call for clinical assistance as needed, and assist in maintaining clinic medications, vaccinations, supplies, and equipment.
  • Float to other departments or clinic locations as assigned by PHMG Leadership.
