About The Position

The Clinical Support Assistant provides vital support to the clinical team, with a strong focus on clinical phone triage. The role manages patient calls in the clinical queue, accurately documents patient interactions, and ensures timely and appropriate follow-up by the care team. It also supports basic clinical functions, including rooming patients, obtaining vital signs, assisting with cast or splint removal, and preparing exam rooms to maintain smooth clinic operations.

Requirements

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED).

Nice To Haves

• Previous healthcare, clinical assistant, or administrative support experience.
• Orthopaedic or specialty clinic experience.

Responsibilities

• Manage calls in the clinical queue by triaging patient symptoms, questions, and requests according to established protocols.
• Clearly and accurately document phone triage interactions in the EMR and route patient cases to the appropriate provider or department.
• Assist with rooming patients, obtaining vital signs, preparing exam rooms, and supporting minor clinical procedures such as cast or splint removal.
• Maintain exam rooms and medical supply inventory, ensuring equipment and materials are organized, stocked, and readily available.
• Maintain clinic readiness and cleanliness and comply with HIPAA and organizational policies.
• Perform other duties as assigned to support patient care and clinical operations.
