Clinical Supervisor - Cardiac Cath Lab
About The Position
The Clinical Supervisor supports the administrative functions of the department and works collaboratively with the unit Director and/or Manager. In their absence, the Clinical Supervisor may assume the administrative scope of the assigned unit. The role assists the Department Director with daily operations, directs and evaluates personnel, and ensures appropriate use of time, equipment, and staff. The Clinical Supervisor is accountable for the quality of staff and department functions during their shift, helps ensure efficient department operations, and may provide direct patient care as needed within scope of practice. The position is full-time, day shift.
Requirements
- Current and valid state license as a Registered Nurse and/or ARRT-R, with licensure as required by the state.
- BLS (AHA) upon hire and maintained current.
- At least two years of supervisory or management experience.
- ACLS (AHA) upon hire and maintained current.
- Five years of Cardiovascular Lab experience.
- Basic computer knowledge.
- Proficiency in interpreting EKGs and hemodynamic pressure tracings.
- Ability to operate Cardiovascular Laboratory equipment, including pressure injectors, hemodynamic monitors, and cardiac output computers.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement departmental plans, including performance improvement activities and compliance with current federal and/or state regulations.
- Prepare, conduct, and/or oversee department orientation and personnel training.
- Communicate verbally and in writing with staff, physicians, and administration.
- Remain accountable for the quality of staff and department functions during the assigned shift.
- Assist the Department Director in daily unit operations, including directing, supervising, and evaluating personnel.
- Ensure proper use of time, equipment, and staff and efficient department functions.
- Provide direct patient care as needed within scope of practice.
- Continually assess care and direct staff to make immediate changes to the plan of care.
- Assume the administrative scope of the assigned unit in the absence of the unit Director and/or Manager.
