About The Position

GENERAL SUMMARY The Clinical Supervisor, MA works with the Practice Administrator/Manager to assist with maintaining patient flow and quality care during clinic hours. The Clinical Supervisor, MA works as part of a health care team including physicians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, front desk, medical records, and medical assistants to provide comprehensive care.

Requirements

  • Medical Assistant Certification required.
  • Knowledge of health care delivery trends and implications for clinical specialty and for the medical practice.
  • Must have excellent written and oral skills, strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
  • Display exceptional customer service skills with the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, colleagues, physicians and the public.
  • Identify complex problems and review related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with a diversity of individuals at all organizational levels and with external customers.

  • Must have ability to multitask, manage priorities, time management and workflow.

  • Must have proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel Spreadsheets, keyboarding and multi-line phone system.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, healthcare coding systems, and clinics functions.
  • Complies with all health and safety policies of the organization.
  • Complies with HIPAA regulations for patient confidentiality.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Graduate of Medical Assistant program.
  • Minimum of 2 years previous clinical experience; preferably in Urology clinic.

  • Some college courses and/or Associate’s degree preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Serves as a clinical leader, supervising clinic staff.
  • Collaborates with administrative staff and physicians to optimize efficiency of a variety of related services ranging from inpatient care to outpatient follow-up care.
  • Assists in the supervision of work and performance of clinic staff including input for performance reviews and corrective action plans as needed.
  • Works collaboratively with clinic staff on programs to improve patient outcomes.
  • Assists in organizing and participating in quality improvement activities.
  • Assists with the training of all back-office function positions, and volunteer staff on health education, laboratory, and dispensary services.
  • Assists with intake and set-up for patient visits.
  • Assists as needed including medication refill requests, specialty and procedure referrals, pre- and post-clinic chart review.
  • Reviews charts, lab test results, and encounter forms for completeness and accuracy and to assess follow-up as needed.
  • Assists with clinic scheduling problem solving, patient wait times, and other areas of concern to increase efficient and quality services.
  • Conducts regular staff meetings to communicate new ideas, problem resolution, obtain feedback and ensures follow-up.
  • Participates in new hire interviews and is responsible for the orientation and training of new hires.
  • Provides back up support for the clinical team, which includes all functions of the back office.
  • Responsible to oversee dispensary logs and storage to maintain quality assurance.
  • Coordinates the inventory, ordering and supply stock maintenance of medical supplies.
  • Provides PTO backup for patient services representatives, medical records specialists, medical assistants, and other clinic support staff when no other resources available.
  • Performs other position related duties as assigned.
  • Employees shall adhere to high standards of ethical conduct and will comply with and assist in complying with all applicable laws and regulations.
  • This will include and not be limited to following the Solaris Health Code of Conduct and all Solaris Health and Affiliated Practice policies and procedures; maintaining the confidentiality of patients' protected health information in compliance with the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA); immediately reporting any suspected concerns and/or violations to a supervisor and/or the Compliance Department; and the timely completion the Annual Compliance Training.
