As a Clinical Staff Pharmacist at UT Southwestern, you will perform job responsibilities in accordance with organizational and departmental policies, procedures, performance improvement objectives, and environmental/infection control standards, as well as state and federal laws and regulations. You will be responsible for accurate and timely computer order entry, reviewing and updating medication profiles, and assessing medication orders for therapeutic appropriateness, duplications, interactions, effectiveness, and safety. This role requires independent problem-solving, multitasking, and decision-making with minimal supervision. You will enforce the formulary system, participate in cost-effective pharmaceutical use, and communicate drug information professionally to healthcare providers. Additionally, you will assist in patient/family education, document clinical activities, and strive to improve patient satisfaction. The role involves managing supportive personnel, delegating tasks, validating medication accuracy, and auditing controlled substances. You will also actively participate in clinical programs, monitor target drugs, and perform therapeutic monitoring. Duties may involve direct patient interaction, research participant interaction, or managing patient/research records.
