Job Summary: The Clinical Nurse Educator is responsible for assisting in identifying learning and development needs for clinical staff. Assesses competencies, need for additional training and education, and develops and delivers educational programs to address issues. Essential Functions: Assists in identifying learning and development needs of staff using various data collection methods: questionnaires, chart review, focus groups. Based on findings, recommends education programs. Provides orientation to clinical staff and monitors effectiveness through competency tasks. Assists clinical staff with transition from new hire to job assignment using problem resolution and guided learning. Provides feedback to Clinical Leadership on new hire clinical staff based on evaluation of documentation and management of current caseload. Evaluates clinical staff performance in the field using field visit tool. Assists in the development, implementation, and updating of clinical policies and procedures to improve the quality of nursing practice and care management. Develop and updates modules for clinical staff. Conducts, develops and tracks Educational In-services for ElderServe Health Staff. Participates in the Quality Improvement Programs; collaborates in setting standards of care and monitors effectiveness. Remains current on new developments by reading professional journals, attending professional seminars, and participating in professional associations etc. Perform any other job related duties as requested. Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree required Master's degree preferred Equivalent years of relevant work experience may be accepted in lieu of required education Three (3) years experience working in an acute care setting required Staff Development or adult instruction experience preferred previous experience working in home care setting preferred Competencies, Knowledge and Skills: Efficient with MS Office products Ability to translate staff needs into a variety of learning and performance improvement strategies Excellent written and verbal communications skills Knowledge of Department of Health and MLTC standards for home care Knowledge of Uniform Assessment New York (UAS-NY) Knowledge of Medicare and Medicaid regulations Ability to create, evaluate and present department, role-focused materials across topics with excellent public speaking skills Ability to develop, prioritize and accomplish goals Listening and critical thinking skills Strong problem-solving skills with attention to detail Strong interpersonal skills and high level of professionalism Time management skills Decision making/problem solving skills Strong organizational skills Change resiliency Licensure and Certification: Current unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) required Working Conditions: General office environment; may be required to sit or stand for extended periods of time Ability to travel as required by the needs of the department. Compensation Range: $72,200.00 - $115,500.00 CareSource takes into consideration a combination of a candidate’s education, training, and experience as well as the position’s scope and complexity, the discretion and latitude required for the role, and other external and internal data when establishing a salary level. In addition to base compensation, you may qualify for a bonus tied to company and individual performance.
