About The Position

For over 125 years, Calvary Hospital and Calvary @Home located in the Bronx, New York has been dedicated to the palliative care of advanced cancer and other terminally ill patients and their families. Through a caring, compassionate, philosophy of non-abandonment, the hospice provides a full spectrum of palliative services, including emotional, spiritual, and physical care. The hospice receives patients from referring institutions throughout New York City and the entire tristate area. Requirements

  • Minimum of one year of clerical experience in an office environment is required.
  • Competency with computer software and peripherals is required.
  • Data entry experience is required.
  • High level of customer services answering telephone and responding to telephone inquiries is required.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality is required.
  • Exhibits an ability and attitude relative to the spirit of caring and tradition at Calvary Hospital as required by specific job duties and functions.

Nice To Haves

  • One year of Medical Records experience is preferred.
  • Knowledge of Medical Terminology and ICD-9 is preferred.
  • Business School or some college preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Maintains patient medical records in Hospice.
  • Ensures accurate and timely filing of Plans of Care, Certificate of Terminal Illness in the patients charts.
  • Reaches out to community physicians to ensure hospice documents are signed and filed.
