About The Position

Under the general supervision of the Practice Administrator or designee, and in accordance with established policies, procedures, and professional guidelines, the Clinical Psychologist diagnoses and evaluates mental and emotional disorders in individuals referred by physicians, with a focus on conditions related to obesity. The role is located in the Bariatric Office.

The Clinical Psychologist administers treatment programs, interviews and observes patients, and selects, administers, and interprets intelligence, achievement, interest, personality, neuropsychological, and other tests to support diagnosis and treatment planning. The position also treats psychological disorders, serves as a consultant, participates in research endeavors, and performs duties in accordance with Tampa General Hospital’s mission, vision, and values.

Requirements

• Doctorate degree in Psychology from an APA-approved program at an accredited degree-granting college or university.
• Postdoctoral internship in Clinical Psychology from an APA-approved program.
• Broad training as a Clinical Psychologist, with a firm foundation in psychodiagnostics and knowledge of neuroanatomy, neurophysiology, and neuropsychology.
• Familiarity with the psychosocial consequences of chronic debilitations and mental disorders.
• Experience with a wide variety of psychotherapeutic treatment modalities.
• Licensure by the State of Florida as a Psychologist.
• Eligibility for Medical Staff Privileges.

Responsibilities
