About The Position

Under general supervision of the Practice Administrator or designee, and in accordance with established policies, procedures, and professional guidelines, the Clinical Psychologist diagnoses and evaluates mental and emotional disorders in individuals referred by physicians, particularly in relation to obesity. The position administers treatment programs, interviews and observes patients, and selects, administers, and interprets intelligence, achievement, interest, personality, neuropsychological, and other tests to support diagnosis and treatment planning. The Clinical Psychologist also treats psychological disorders, serves as a consultant, and participates in research endeavors. The role is responsible for performing duties in accordance with the mission, vision, and values of Tampa General Hospital. The position is located in the Bariatric Office.

Requirements

• Doctorate degree in Psychology from an APA-approved program at an accredited degree-granting college or university.
• Post-doctoral internship in Clinical Psychology from an APA-approved program.
• Broad training as a Clinical Psychologist with a firm foundation in psychodiagnostics.
• Knowledge of neuroanatomy, neurophysiology, and neuropsychology.
• Familiarity with psychosocial consequences of chronic debilitation and mental disorders.
• Experience with a wide variety of psychotherapeutic treatment modalities.
• Licensure by the State of Florida as a Psychologist.
• Eligibility for Medical Staff Privileges.

Responsibilities
