About The Position

This position is located at Madigan Army Medical Center, Department of Mental Health in Tacoma, Washington. This is a Direct Hire Solicitation. This is an open continuous announcement. Multiple vacancies exist and may be filled from this announcement. We accept applications on an ongoing basis; qualified applicants will be considered as vacancies become available. Duties include applying biopsychosocial evaluations to propose mental health interventions, providing evidence-based treatment (behavioral, cognitive, motivational approaches), giving feedback to primary care providers and staff on patient status and recommendations for team-based care, implementing psychoeducational classes for high-frequency diagnoses in primary care, and documenting information in the electronic health record during patient encounters.

Requirements

  • US Citizens
  • Must be able to fulfill credentialing requirements and obtain and maintain appropriate/relevant clinical privileges.
  • Must have Basic Life Support training certification from the American Heart Association or Military Training Network within 30 days of employment.
  • Must complete a pre-employment Physical Examination and an annual examination thereafter.
  • Doctoral Degree (Ph.D. or equivalent) directly related to full professional work in clinical psychology.
  • One year of specialized experience which includes: conducting mental health assessments; providing individual and group treatment; and working as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Must possess a current, active, valid, unrestricted clinical license to practice Psychology independently, offered by a U.S. State, District of Columbia, commonwealth, territory or jurisdiction.

Responsibilities

  • Apply biopsychosocial evaluations to propose mental health interventions.
