Requirements
- Licensed to practice in pharmacy in the state where the pharmacy is located
- Graduate of a college of pharmacy accredited by the American Council on Pharmaceutical Education (ACPE)
- Effective communication skills, verbal and written
- Working computer knowledge
- Repetitive use of hands and fingers (i.e., use of computer keyboard) and labeling containers
- Normal range of hearing and vision to perform work and communicate
- Extended periods of standing and walking
- Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions
- Vaccinated for COVID-19 as a condition of employment, subject to accommodation for medical or sincerely held religious beliefs
Nice To Haves
- One year of hospital experience preferred
- Doctor of Pharmacy degree preferred
- Hospital pharmacy residency preferred
- Very good drug knowledge base including pharmacokinetics dosing and nutritional support
Responsibilities
- Fill orders with accuracy
- Check technician prepared products before release
- Maintain security of pharmacy and controlled substances
- Enter orders and patient information with accuracy
- Aid in the training of new staff
- Update the Manager about the daily activities of the pharmacy
- Aid the Manager in maintaining the pharmacy
- Verify appropriateness of medication orders
- Check dispensed medications for accuracy, sterility, stability, as appropriate
- Review and optimize medication therapy
- Provide medication therapy education to healthcare professionals, as requested
- Provide patient counseling of medication therapies
- Reports daily to Clinical Pharmacy Manager on overall operations, projects assigned, and expectations of overall role
- Rotating AM&PM including weekends
