About The Position

Lighthouse Behavioral Health Hospital is seeking a licensed or license-eligible Clinical Outpatient Therapist. The therapist provides comprehensive assessment for people whose lives are disrupted or complicated by mental illness, behavioral disturbance, substance-related issues, or difficulty functioning or maintaining themselves in the community. The role supports voluntary and involuntary admissions, makes appropriate referrals to community resources, and coordinates discharge planning through the medical staff. The therapist works as part of a multidisciplinary team, participates in the organization’s community relations program and continuous performance improvement activities, and communicates with outpatient referral sources, families or guardians, and outpatient aftercare providers.

Lighthouse Behavioral Health Hospital has provided substance abuse and mental health services since 2002 and offers acute inpatient services to adolescents, adults, and seniors, as well as substance use disorder treatment and intensive outpatient services.

Requirements

• Master’s degree.
• Licensed or eligible for licensure in South Carolina.
• 1–3 years of experience in a clinical mental health setting.

Nice To Haves

• 3–5 years of experience in a clinical mental health setting is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive assessments of people affected by mental illness, behavioral disturbance, substance-related issues, or difficulty functioning or maintaining themselves in the community.
• Assist law enforcement, family members, and others with voluntary and involuntary admission processes.
• Refer patients to community resources as appropriate.
• Coordinate discharge planning through the medical staff.
• Function as a member of the multidisciplinary team.
• Participate in the organization’s community relations program.
• Participate in continuous performance improvement activities.
• Communicate with outpatient referral sources, families or guardians, and outpatient aftercare providers.
