About The Position

The Behavioral Health Therapist provides intensive behavioral health services, including diagnostic assessments, individual, group, and family-based psychotherapy, and crisis intervention as needed. The therapist collaborates with patients and families to develop individualized treatment plans addressing identified concerns and helps them understand effective ways to manage symptoms and behaviors associated with behavioral health diagnoses. The role also supports families in addressing complex personal and environmental difficulties that interfere with social functioning. Clinical services are provided to patients, their families, and other significant people in the patient’s life. The therapist works independently, stays organized, identifies opportunities to collaborate with other hospital units and departments, and participates as a collaborative member of the interdisciplinary team and community agencies. The BHT demonstrates Dayton Children’s values through effective interactions with patients, families, and treatment team members while providing excellent care.
