About The Position

Join Corewell Health’s nutrition team and support patients by coordinating menu selection and providing education to patients with moderately complex diets. Maintain patient information in the appropriate software program to help ensure nutritional needs are met. This is a part-time position at 1226 Cedar St NE in Grand Rapids, with a day schedule of 6 a.m. to 3 p.m. on variable days and every other weekend.

Requirements

• At least 1 year of relevant experience.
• Customer-facing service experience by phone or face to face, in customer service and/or managed health care.
• Basic diet and nutrition knowledge.
• Time management, organizational, and risk mitigation skills.
• CRT-Accredited Food Handler certification from the ANSI National Accreditation Board within 90 days.
• CRT-Accredited Food Allergy Certificate from the ANSI National Accreditation Board within 90 days.
• CRT-Accredited Food Protection Manager, CFP certification from the ANSI National Accreditation Board within 90 days.

Nice To Haves

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• High-volume call center experience.
• Electronic Medical Record experience.

Responsibilities

• Answer telephone calls and process diet orders, special diet instructions, transfers, discharges, and guest tray information.
• Screen diet orders for accuracy as needed.
• Update and maintain patient data files in the appropriate software system or database.
• Assemble tray tickets and menus, verify consistency with the software system or database, troubleshoot variances, and make changes or adjustments as needed.
• Write special diets as needed.
• Provide and post production tallies for food items to the appropriate food service area according to the scheduled time.
