The Clinical Nurse provides safe, compassionate, high-quality infusion services to Young Adult (YA) patients. The nurse will initially be trained to provide infusion care to pediatric patients and will progressively transition to caring primarily for the Young Adult population. Care includes administration and monitoring of chemotherapy, biotherapy, immunotherapy, and blood products. The Clinical Nurse provides evidence-based, patient- and family-centered care; collaborates with patients, families, unit leadership, and the interprofessional team; and participates in unit operations, quality improvement, staff development, and implementation of institutional best practices. The nurse practices autonomously within the scope of professional nursing practice and applicable standards, including the Texas Nurse Practice Act and the institution’s Professional Practice Model. The schedule is Monday through Friday, four 10-hour shifts from 8:00 a.m. to 6:30 p.m., with a rotating weekday off. Weekend and holiday on-call coverage is required on a rotating basis. Nurses with less than one year of RN work experience must participate in the Clinical Nurse Residency Program. Employment may require routine reviews and screening to maintain the security and integrity of critical infrastructure.
