About The Position
USA Health is seeking a Clinical Nurse Practitioner for its Pediatrics-Endocrinology service within the USA Health Physicians Group. The role will expand the service’s capacity to evaluate general pediatric endocrinology problems in response to increasing demand. The position involves outpatient evaluations, new and follow-up patient visits, knowledge of endocrinology medications, and communication with parents about patient calls and results. The employee must complete required department, educational, and hospital requirements; follow current infection control and safety standards; attend regularly and promptly; work the defined schedule and overtime as required; and perform related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in nursing from an accredited institution and completion of an approved nurse practitioner training program, or completion of an accredited physician assistant training program.
- For nurse practitioner candidates: Alabama Certified Nurse Practitioner credential upon hire, and Alabama licensure as a nurse practitioner and registered nurse upon hire.
- For physician assistant candidates: Alabama licensure to practice as a Physician Assistant within 60 days.
- Comparable combinations of education and experience may substitute for the listed requirements.
Responsibilities
- Increase the service’s ability to evaluate general pediatric endocrinology problems.
- Perform outpatient pediatric endocrinology evaluations.
- Evaluate new general endocrinology patients.
- See follow-up patients from the hospital in the clinic setting.
- Take patient calls and discuss results with parents.
- Complete all mandatory department, educational, and hospital requirements.
- Adhere to current infection control and safety standards.
- Maintain regular and prompt attendance.
- Work the defined schedule and overtime as required.
- Perform related duties as assigned.
