About The Position

The Clinical Nurse Manager provides 24/7 leadership and accountability for the operational, clinical, and administrative management of 4 East, a 31-bed adult medical-surgical telemetry unit. The unit serves a diverse patient population including cardiac patients, post–cardiac catheterization recovery, stroke, pulmonary embolism, diabetic and endocrine disorders, neurological conditions, and renal disorders. In collaboration with the Director of Inpatient Services, the Clinical Nurse Manager ensures the delivery of safe, high-quality, evidence-based nursing care while promoting a positive work environment, staff engagement, and excellent patient outcomes. This role functions as a transformational leader within a complex inpatient environment, supporting organizational goals, quality initiatives, and professional nursing practice.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Nursing
  • Current New Hampshire Registered Nurse (RN) license
  • BLS certification
  • ACLS certification (unit appropriate)
  • Minimum of three (3) years of progressive nursing leadership experience
  • Strong clinical nursing experience in med/surg/tele
  • Demonstrated leadership, communication, mentoring, and organizational skills
  • Ability to manage staffing, budgeting, quality improvement, and regulatory compliance
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to lead in a fast-paced inpatient environment

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree in Nursing
  • Prior leadership experience in medical-surgical and/or telemetry inpatient settings

Responsibilities

  • Provide 24/7 leadership and accountability for unit operations, patient care quality, and staff performance
  • Promote professional nursing practice and ensure compliance with organizational, regulatory, and professional standards
  • Support and maintain a unit-based orientation, education, and competency program
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to achieve quality, safety, and patient satisfaction goals
  • Ensure appropriate staffing levels, skill mix, and scheduling based on patient acuity and budgetary guidelines
  • Serve as a transformational leader who supports change, shared governance, and staff engagement
  • Partner with Human Resources to support hiring, onboarding, performance management, corrective action, and employee relations
  • Participate in annual budget preparation, fiscal oversight, and implementation of cost-reduction strategies
  • Monitor, analyze, and act on patient safety, quality metrics, and patient satisfaction results
  • Conduct leadership rounds and provide timely service recovery
  • Support staff development, specialty certification, professional advancement, and recognition initiatives
  • Maintain clinical competence and visibility within the medical-surgical/telemetry environment
  • Foster a collaborative, inclusive, and positive work culture
