About The Position

The Clinical Nurse II is a Registered Nurse in the Float Pool at Parkwest Medical Center, working full time for 72 hours per pay period on the day shift. The role provides professional nursing care within an assigned unit and coordinates care planning with other disciplines.

Requirements

• At least one year of professional nursing experience.
• Tennessee State RN licensure, which must be maintained.
• CPR certification required.
• Education must be sufficient to meet the standards for the required license and/or certification.

Responsibilities

• Correlate patient history and support systems within hospital or nursing home care.
• Assess the learning needs of patients and families.
• Develop and initiate plans of care involving patients and families.
• Recommend interventions and evaluate plans of care.
• Resolve moderately complex problems without oversight or supervision.
• Show willingness to precept employees or students as directed, and review the preceptee’s clinical performance with the unit leader or clinical instructor.
• Demonstrate competence in critical skills and deliver care appropriate to the age-specific needs of the population served.
• Supervise LPNs, Nursing Assistants, HUCs, Techs, and sitters.
• Follow policies, procedures, and safety standards; complete required annual education assignments.
• Work toward achieving goals and objectives and participate in quality improvement initiatives as requested.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
