About The Position

Provides professional nursing care within an assigned unit and coordinates care planning with other disciplines. This Registered Nurse position is in the Float Pool at Parkwest Medical Center, a Covenant Health facility in West Knoxville. It is full time, 72 hours per pay period, on the night shift.

Requirements

• At least one year of professional nursing experience.
• Maintain Tennessee State RN licensure.
• CPR certification is required.
• Education must be sufficient to meet the standards for the required license and/or certification; no minimum education level is specified.

Responsibilities

• Correlate patient history and support systems within hospital care or nursing home care.
• Assess the learning needs of patients and families.
• Develop and initiate plans of care involving patients and families.
• Recommend interventions.
• Evaluate plans of care.
• Resolve moderately complex issues without oversight or supervision.
• Be willing to precept employees or students as directed, and review preceptee clinical performance with the unit leader or clinical instructor.
• Demonstrate competence in critical skills and deliver care appropriate to the age-specific needs of the population served.
• Supervise LPNs, Nursing Assistants, HUCs, Techs, and sitters.
• Follow policies, procedures, and safety standards; complete required annual education assignments; work toward goals and objectives; and participate in quality improvement initiatives as requested.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
