About The Position

The Clinical Nurse Educator works in the Samaritan Medical Center nursing professional development department. The role requires a broad base of knowledge and the ability to interact with and educate learners at all levels of the Samaritan organization. The educator uses a variety of educational tools and equipment and applies adult education principles, learner-centered training, needs assessment, and performance evaluation.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Nursing or education.
Master’s degree in Nursing or Education required.
Three years of clinical experience required.
Knowledge of adult education principles, learner-centered training, needs assessment, and performance evaluation.
Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
Must be motivated, creative, self-directed, articulate, and demonstrate strong interpersonal skills.
Comprehensive, broad-based knowledge and ability to interact with and educate learners at all levels of the Samaritan organization.
Ability to use a variety of educational tools and equipment.
Current license as a Registered Professional Nurse in New York State.
Basic Life Support certification required at time of hire.
Attain Six Sigma Greenbelt certification within two years of hire.
