Clinical Medical Assistant Skill Instructor
About The Position
CALRegional is seeking a part-time Clinical Medical Assistant Skills Assistant to support instruction at its Santa Rosa, California campus. The Clinical Medical Assistant Programs run for 8–10 weeks. The role follows an established course outline, assists the Lead Instructor with required skill labs, and supports student learning and outcomes. No teaching experience is required. Applicants must be available on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. The posting describes the role as a way for medical professionals to earn additional income while helping prepare future healthcare workers.
Requirements
- At least one year of experience as a Medical Assistant or in a directly related field is required in the job details; the qualifications section later describes this experience as preferred.
- Familiarity with anatomy and physiology, medical terminology, basic pharmacology, and medical math.
- Front-office experience.
- Experience with back-office procedures, including EKGs, urine testing, vital signs, blood pressure, temperature checks, injections for adults and pediatric patients, minor wound trays, and bandaging.
- Ability to deliver instruction energetically and passionately.
- Ability to mentor students and hold them accountable to program standards.
- Comfort with computers and technology.
- Highly organized and detail oriented.
- Current CPR certification.
- Availability Tuesdays and Thursdays from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.
