About The Position

CALRegional is seeking a part-time Clinical Medical Assistant Lead Instructor to teach an 8–10-week program at Twin Rivers Adult School in McClellan Park, California. The role helps prepare students for healthcare careers through instruction, mentoring, and hands-on skills labs. No prior teaching experience is required. The schedule is Monday through Thursday, 5:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.; Tuesdays and Thursdays are remote, with the other scheduled days onsite.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of experience as a Medical Assistant or in a directly related field.
• Familiarity with anatomy and physiology, medical terminology, basic pharmacology, and medical math.
• Front-office experience.
• Experience with back-office procedures, including EKGs, urine testing, vital signs, blood pressure, temperature checks, injections for adult and pediatric patients, minor wound trays, and bandaging.
• Ability to deliver instruction energetically and passionately.
• Comfort with computers and technology.
• Strong organization and attention to detail.
• Current CPR certification.

Responsibilities

• Advance student learning through exemplary instruction while following an established course outline.
• Assist in achieving student learning outcomes.
• Maintain current knowledge of the subject matter and effective teaching and learning strategies.
• Maintain appropriate standards of professionalism and conduct.
• Facilitate all required skills labs with an assistant skills instructor.
• Grade class assignments and exams.
• Mentor students and hold them accountable to program standards.
