Charles R. Drew University is located in the Watts-Willowbrook area of South Los Angeles and was founded in 1966 in the wake of the Watts uprising. CDU was founded to address inadequate medical care in the region and to provide equitable medical education opportunities for underrepresented students. CDU is strongly invested in the local and regional community. The university leads multiple partnerships and programs to provide equitable healthcare resources in a variety of South Los Angeles neighborhoods. The Clinical Manager will be responsible for the ongoing management of the daily operations for the Black Maternal Health Center of Excellence (BMHCE) Community Health Worker (CHW) and Patient Navigator (PN) Programs. The Clinical Manager will work with the BMHCE Clinical Leads to establish essential protocols and workflows for the CHW and PN programs and participate in evidence-based and data-driven quality improvement efforts. The Clinical Manager will provide administrative oversight of CHW and PN team members and coordinate with the Workforce Development Core for onboarding, training, workforce development, and workforce satisfaction efforts for this team. The Clinical Manager will collaborate with the Data Core to ensure the integrity of patient and program data accessed by the CHW and PN teams. The Clinical Manager will also manage a caseload of BMHCE clients, providing patient navigation support and coordinating the development and management of client care plans.
