About The Position

Henry Mayo Newhall Hospital is a 357-bed, not-for-profit Level II Trauma Center serving the Santa Clarita Valley since 1975. They offer advanced medical services including comprehensive heart and vascular care, advanced stroke treatment, cancer care in partnership with Keck Medicine of USC, women's imaging and breast health services, emergency and trauma care, and cardiac rehabilitation and wellness programs. As part of Los Angeles County's STEMI receiving network, they provide lifesaving cardiac intervention through their state-of-the-art Cardiac Cath Lab. Requirements

  • State and Federal regulations, including Title 22 and all other regulatory requirements.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Excellent intradepartmental communication skills and interaction with patients and their families; hospital and medical staff.
  • Analytical skills.
  • Knowledge of supervisory theories, principles, practices, techniques and methods.
  • Ability to manage staff and change through collaborative and positive leadership skills.
  • Current California RN License
  • Current BLS provider card
  • Five (5) or more year’s acute hospital experience with progressive clinical leadership experience.

Nice To Haves

  • National Certification in clinical area of expertise preferred
  • Master’s Degree in Nursing (preferred) or a related field
  • Membership in Professional Organization preferred
  • Current NRP Certification (Women’s Unit and NICU)
  • Current Advanced fetal monitoring certification (Women’s Unit and NICU)

Responsibilities

  • Accountability for the 24-hour day-to-day management of clinical nursing practice and patient care delivery.
  • Management of human, fiscal and other resources.

  • Fostering of interdisciplinary collaborative relationships within the Department and the organization as a whole.

  • Contributing to unit leadership at a high level of proficiency.
