About the position
This job is for a position within the Clinical Laboratory Operations (CLO) flock at bluebird bio. The CLO group is responsible for managing laboratory samples across various studies. The role involves overseeing the life cycle of clinical samples, including collection, tracking, processing, analysis, and data delivery. The job requires strong organizational and problem-solving skills, as well as the ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. The candidate should have a background in life sciences and preferably some experience in clinical laboratory operations or a related field.
Responsibilities
- Providing support in laboratory operational oversight throughout the life cycle of clinical samples
- Supporting end-to-end sample tracking and logistics for clinical samples
- Organizing and prioritizing across multiple often competing deliverables
- Following through on actions and tracking to resolution and closure
- Participating cross functionally by attending study team and clinical sub team meetings
- Participating in writing or reviewing central and specialty laboratory related study documentation
- Tracking and reporting trends with lab sample collections
- Supporting the Clinical Laboratory Operations leads in documentation of meeting minutes during lab vendor meetings
- Providing support to clinical data management team during data cleaning and reconciliation of lab samples
- Presenting to a larger group with some guidance from manager
- Performing eTMF submissions and eTMF review of the laboratory section
- Other related tasks as needed
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in life science field preferred
- 1+ years' experience in clinical laboratory operations or related field
- Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills
- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment with tight timelines and competing priorities
- Strong reasoning, detailed orientation, and problem-solving abilities
