About The Position
The Clinical Laboratory Scientist III performs complex medical laboratory testing to support the diagnosis and treatment of disease. The role independently processes specimens and performs moderate- and high-complexity tests, analyzes results, and is accountable for their accuracy. It also involves maintaining and troubleshooting complex instruments, managing quality control and quality assurance practices, ensuring compliance with accrediting agencies, serving as a resource to customers, and managing assigned projects.
Requirements
- Associate degree required.
- Five years of experience in a microbiology clinical laboratory setting required.
- One of the following certifications is required: MT(ASCP), MLS(ASCP), MT(AMT), MT(AAB), CLS(NCA), MT(HEW), CLT(NCA), MLT(ASCP), or MLT(AMT). Certification is waived for applicants with 10 years of laboratory experience.

Responsibilities
- Independently process specimens and perform moderate- and high-complexity testing.
- Analyze test results and assume accountability for their accuracy.
- Evaluate potential new methods, instrumentation, and technology in light of customer needs, cost-benefit, and revenue generation, and inform management of findings.
- Assure compliance with accrediting agencies.
- Act as a resource for customers inside and outside the department.
- Manage assigned projects by developing plans, coordinating resources, setting timelines, informing the Manager of progress, and completing work within established time limits.
- Perform quality control management, including running controls, evaluating and documenting data, taking corrective action, and communicating relevant information to a Supervisor or Manager.
- Perform preventive equipment maintenance, troubleshoot issues, and take corrective action.
- Identify problems, take appropriate action, and seek guidance when needed to complete troubleshooting protocols.
