About The Position
Quest Diagnostics is hiring a Clinical Lab Scientist I for its RRL Operations department in Arcadia, California. The role performs laboratory testing and related quality and equipment processes, including assessing specimens and results, maintaining accurate reporting, responding to critical or unexpected findings, and maintaining laboratory equipment. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 3:30 PM to 12:00 AM, with rotational weekends. The pay range is $47.75–$53.10 per hour. The employee may be eligible for a 10% shift differential for some or all second-shift hours and a 15% differential for some or all third-shift hours; details are provided if an offer is extended. Salary offers consider relevant skills, training, experience, education, certifications where applicable, and market and organizational factors. Successful candidates may be eligible for annual performance bonus compensation.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science degree in medical technology or biological sciences from an accredited college or university.
- Current California state Clinical Laboratory Scientist license to perform laboratory testing.
- Zero to three years of direct experience in a laboratory setting.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and test new reagents or controls and evaluate their usefulness according to standard criteria.
- Determine whether specimens are acceptable for testing based on established testing-procedure criteria.
- Accurately enter test results.
- Check computer review reports to monitor accurate reporting of laboratory results.
- Evaluate routine analyses for acceptability before releasing patient reports.
- Respond appropriately to critical values or unusual or unexpected results and document actions taken.
- Perform preventative maintenance and/or calibration of laboratory equipment according to the approved schedule and document actions taken.
