About The Position

Sandstone Care is seeking passionate and dedicated individuals currently enrolled in a master’s program in counseling or social work to join their team as a Clinical Intern. This is an unpaid internship/practicum opportunity where interns will gain hands-on experience in a dynamic, supportive environment. The program specializes in helping adolescents and young adults overcome substance use, mental health, and mood disorders, treating the whole person and supporting families. Sandstone Care values professionalism, ethical practice, and a commitment to continuous learning, and encourages those who complete their practicum to continue for clinical internship hours.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in a master’s in counseling or social work program seeking a clinical internship.
  • Availability to commit 15-20 hours per week, including at least one evening per week.
  • A desire to contribute to a supportive, client-centered treatment environment.
  • Commitment to high-quality clinical documentation, paperwork, and billing responsibilities.
  • Professional attitude, maintaining self-awareness and seeking support when needed.
  • Understanding of ethical practice and supervision.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Dedication to working under direct supervision.
  • Passion for helping others and commitment to developing therapeutic competence.

Responsibilities

  • Supporting clients' recovery journey
  • Contributing to treatment goals
  • Facilitating individual, group, and family therapy sessions
  • Engaging in clinical documentation, paperwork, and billing responsibilities
  • Coordinating care with clients, their families, and other providers
  • Leading individual sessions
  • Facilitating group sessions
