About The Position

This role serves as a liaison between assigned departments, facilities, providers, and Information Technology (IT) staff to facilitate optimal use of applications. The analyst demonstrates a clinical background with a special pharmaceutical interest and expertise in the use of the electronic medical record (EMR) and other technology specific to enhancing clinical practice. The responsibilities include assisting assigned departments, geographical areas, or specific functions with the utilization of EMR and associated pharmaceutical or clinical technology. Key areas of accountability include individual and classroom training, onsite and remote end-user support, development of supporting pharmaceutical or clinical workflows, investigation and resolution of application and workflow issues, and participation in committees that promote both the standardization and optimization of EMR and other associated technology. The role involves gathering and analyzing information for appropriate medication interaction alerts, designing and developing electronic medication records for use in hospital and outpatient settings, and using analytical skills to improve workflow and data use for clinical decision-making or to investigate/escalate support issues. Additionally, the analyst will develop plans for achieving identified outcomes, assist with and document testing, provide end-user training, and communicate project progress and outcomes to appropriate operational leadership. Assistance in the creation and maintenance of training documentation is also a key responsibility. Periodic travel, non-business hour support, and on-call rotation may be required.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited School of Pharmacy.
  • Thorough knowledge of drugs and their actions.
  • Knowledge of state and local regulations.
  • License must be in good standing in the state of practice by the State Board of Pharmacy.
