About The Position

This posting is for three (3) open-rank Practicum Education fixed-term faculty positions. By applying, applicants will be considered for all available vacancies. The School of Social Work at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill invites applications for three open-rank Practicum Education fixed-term faculty positions (1.0 FTE). The mission of the School of Social Work is to advance equity, transform systems, and improve lives. The curriculum supports this mission through a focus on evidence-based practice; commitment to disadvantaged, vulnerable, and oppressed individuals, families, and communities; and the design, implementation, and evaluation of social interventions. These positions will be reviewed annually for reappointment. We seek candidates to coordinate practicum education and teach graduate-level social work courses. Successful applicants will contribute to practicum education across a range of social work practice areas and teach up to four graduate courses per year. Candidates should possess broad social work practice experience and expertise, with the ability to teach in generalist practice and either direct practice or macro practice specialization courses.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated skill and experience teaching graduate-level classes, including traditional classroom, online, and seminar formats

  • Professional experience in direct practice or macro social work
  • Teaching CMPP or direct concentration courses
  • Qualifications and experience in both direct and macro practice areas
  • Relationship-building skills
  • Knowledge of North Carolina communities

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate practicum education
  • Teach graduate-level social work courses
