About The Position

PCOM Georgia is seeking a dynamic and collaborative Osteopathic Physician passionate about teaching and Osteopathic patient care. The ideal candidate will consistently integrate Osteopathic principles into patient care, possess expertise in various Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine (OMM) modalities, be a team player, and enjoy teaching. The role involves utilizing contemporary teaching methods and platforms, including electronic collaboration tools and electronic medical records. A deep appreciation for the history and heritage of the Osteopathic profession and a dedication to teaching Osteopathic Principles and modalities are essential. The faculty member will join a highly collaborative team committed to educating students and preserving osteopathic principles. Responsibilities include teaching DO medical students across all four years at PCOM Suwanee GA, involving lectures, lab sessions, integrated OMM sessions, and clinical mentoring. The position also entails patient care in the Osteopathic Specialty Clinic, mentoring students and OMM scholars, and fulfilling administrative duties as assigned by the OPP chair and/or Dean.

Requirements

  • Two years teaching Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine in lecture, lab, and small group settings or the equivalent.
  • D.O. or M.D. degree.
  • Board Eligibility or Board Certification in Neuromusculoskeletal Medicine and Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine or its equivalent.
  • Maintain active medical licenses.
  • Maintain board certification in NMM or other appropriate primary care board certification with equivalent proficiency in OMM.

Nice To Haves

  • Participation in an osteopathic scholarship/fellowship program is favorable.
  • Participation in Osteopathic education, CME’s, seminars, and education in adjunct treatment modalities are beneficial.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain current excellent professional standing and high professional standards.
  • Participate in the education of OMS-1 & OMS-2 students at PCOM Georgia.
  • Contribute to the education of Osteopathic medical students in lecture, laboratory, and clinical settings.
  • Supervise and teach OMS-3 & OMS-4 students, as well as Osteopathic primary care residents.
  • Provide service in the current Osteopathic Specialty Clinic.
  • Evaluate student progress in the development of appropriate medical knowledge through practical assessments.
  • Serve in leadership and membership roles in college and faculty committees as directed by the Dean.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the OMM Chair or Campus Dean.
