The Clinical Educator oversees the success and growth of new-hire programs, standardizes educational training, supports preceptors, and works actively with hospital units and nursing leadership to advance educational and organizational goals. The role provides continued educational support, training, and mentoring to new graduate, novice, and experienced Registered Nurses (RNs) and Licensed Vocational/Practical Nurses (LVN/LPNs), helping them transition to practice through unit-based support and coordination of resources. The educator follows up with each new nurse during and after orientation and throughout the training period. Serving as a clinical liaison between education and clinical directors, managers, and coordinators, the Clinical Educator assesses needs and performance in real time to facilitate timely release from orientation. Identified knowledge and skill deficits are addressed by coordinating available resources. The role supports the development and success of each new nurse and contributes to improved patient outcomes, while also ensuring preceptors and new hires receive the support they need.
