About The Position

The Clinical Educator RN is responsible for the training and education of employees based on Clinic needs. Their duties include designing, developing, planning, implementing, and evaluating orientation and continuing education for all clinical levels of personnel. Facilitates professional development of staff; provides leadership to facilitate and promote clinical improvement initiatives. Delivers standardized, competency-based, training, and development programs, such as new employee orientation, ongoing education, and clinical training.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing, Education, or Equivalent.
  • Two years’ recent clinical experience in a Pediatric or Family Medicine setting.
  • Active nursing license from the state of Pennsylvania.
  • Basic Life Support Training.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s Degree in Nursing, Education, or Equivalent, preferred.
  • More than three year’s clinical experience, preferred.
  • Recent clinical experience in a Federally Qualified Health Care Look-Alike or Federally Qualified Health Care setting, preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Designs, develops, plans, and implements standardized education to all clinical staff and temporary staff pediatric patient population based on the annual learning education needs assessment.
  • Acts as a mentor during the orientation process; teaches, trains, observes, and works alongside the clinical staff in the practice setting.
  • Implements Quality initiatives into clinical workflows and monitors compliance in conjunction with leadership.
  • Tracks completion of quarterly core bundles and performs yearly lab competencies for clinical staff.
  • Identifies the need for new competencies and utilizes the necessary resources to develop and implement.
  • Fosters teamwork and interprofessional collaborating by providing regular feedback and involving peers in decisions that will affect them as it relates to ongoing education.
  • Participates in continuing education activity planning committees for ongoing education to all clinical staff.
  • Attends clinical departmental staff meetings as needed to provide educational updates.
  • Assists in the development of staff to function in new roles by providing clinical education and team building consultation.
  • Partners with practice leadership to provide clinical input into action plans to assist with clinical development and resolution of clinical concerns.
  • Conduct chart audits to monitor compliance with regulatory and program standards.
  • Ensure Compliance with Health Resources & Services Administration (HRSA) Standards.
  • Collaborates with Administrator of Clinical Services and VHP Leadership to identify needs for quality workflow development.
  • Assists in the development of quality improvement efforts and workflows.
  • Assists in the monitoring of quality metrics to assure compliance with quality improvement workflows.
  • Assumes personal responsibility for providing quality service, comfort and responsiveness as perceived by patients, visitors, physicians, and colleagues.
  • Works with other relevant provider organizations and statewide groups, as applicable, to coordinate and align quality improvement efforts.

  • Maintains productivity expectations to meet quality program goals through UDC and gap closure, documentation reconciliation and scanning reconciliation for quality assurance.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned by the Leadership Team.
