About The Position

Altior Healthcare is a network of mental health treatment programs, including a specialized program for US Veterans. With over 15 locations across five states (California, Idaho, Maine, New Hampshire, and Texas), they manage and support over 500 employees serving more than 300 residential clients daily. Altior Healthcare is seeking an experienced and dynamic Clinical Director to provide strategic leadership for clinical operations across their residential treatment programs in San Rafael, California. The Clinical Director will oversee all aspects of clinical programming, therapist supervision, and multidisciplinary treatment team operations across multiple residential facilities serving more than 20 treatment beds. This leader will be responsible for fostering clinical excellence, ensuring operational consistency, driving evidence-based treatment practices, supporting staff development, and maintaining the highest standards of client care. The ideal candidate is a collaborative and influential behavioral health leader with a proven track record of managing multidisciplinary clinical teams in residential treatment, inpatient psychiatry, partial hospitalization (PHP), intensive outpatient (IOP), or other high-acuity behavioral health settings. This individual excels at mentoring clinicians, strengthening team performance, implementing best practices, and partnering cross-functionally to deliver exceptional treatment outcomes while supporting organizational growth.

Requirements

  • Active and unrestricted clinical licensure required (LCSW, LMFT, LPCC, PsyD, or equivalent).
  • Previous clinical leadership experience within behavioral health required.
  • Experience in residential treatment, inpatient psychiatry, PHP, IOP, or other high-acuity behavioral health settings.
  • Experience providing clinical supervision and leading multidisciplinary treatment teams.

  • Experience working with adolescents, young adults, and family systems strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership and oversight for clinical programming across residential treatment facilities in San Rafael
  • Supervise, mentor, and support therapists, clinical supervisors, and treatment teams across multiple programs
  • Ensure consistency, quality, and effectiveness of clinical care delivery across sites
  • Support implementation and development of evidence-based treatment programming and clinical initiatives
  • Maintain oversight of clinical operations supporting 60+ residential treatment beds
  • Collaborate closely with executive leadership, operations, psychiatry, nursing, and admissions teams
  • Monitor documentation quality, treatment planning, utilization review, and compliance standards
  • Assist with hiring, onboarding, performance management, and professional development of clinical staff
  • Provide support with crisis management, complex case consultation, and clinical escalation needs
  • Ensure compliance with state, federal, licensing, accreditation, and organizational standards
  • Participate in program growth initiatives, workflow optimization, and process improvement efforts
