As a Clinical Director- Emergency Services, you're accountable for the 24-hour operations of the emergency department and the related service areas. The Director is responsible for clinical care delivery, for leadership of associates, for fiscal stewardship of the department's resources, and for the creation of a positive clinical and associate work environment. Provides oversight for major initiatives leading to achievement of quality and service goals. Plays a key role in collaboration with the medical staff ED Director for the facility and in ensuring services are fully implemented. Contributes to the organization's and the system's success in clinical outcomes, service to all customers (patients, families, physicians and associates), and to a positive financial state. Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree Nursing
  • Emergency nursing where leadership capabilities have been demonstrated 3-5 years
  • Registered Nurse Tennessee - Tennessee Board of Nursing
  • BASIC LIFE SUPPORT - American Heart Association
  • Identified leadership competencies.
  • Use of pc and applications including word processing.
  • Ability to use data, interpret reports, analyze, draw conclusions, and make appropriate plans.
  • Ability to communicate professionally and effectively with all levels of Associate, management and physicians.
  • Skill in negotiating with and between individuals and groups of people, including Associates, managers, and physicians.
  • Ability to lead and motivate individuals and groups of people toward the accomplishment of work and organizational goals.

Responsibilities

  • Accountable for the assigned Emergency Services and related departments 24 hours / 7 days.
  • Responsible for the delivery of effective patient care through staff associates.
  • Leads development and implementation of strategies for the improved care and safety of ED patients.
  • Responsive to the outcomes of clinical care by participation in the development and implementation of improvement solutions.
  • Plays a direct role in collaboration with case managers and registration associates to ensure service to each patient.
  • Works collaboratively with MD ED Director in review of results and addressing care issues and delivery effectiveness.
  • Responsive to the outcomes of customer satisfaction by participation in the development and implementation of improvement solutions.
  • Hires, coaches, develops, and evaluates the performance of associates.
  • Works through Patient Care Coordinators to ensure effective deployment of the care delivery system.
  • Coaches PCCs in leadership of associates.
  • Creates positive work environments.
  • Accountable for associate retention and engagement outcomes.
  • Ensures effective and efficient use of human resources.
  • Appropriately plans staffing and scheduling.
  • Collaborates across appropriate system resources for education and development of associates.
  • Participates in planning activities regarding the emergency services.
  • Develops budgets for human, other operating and capital budgets.
  • Effectively deploys the fiscal plan for the scope of responsibility.
  • Understands and analyzes fiscal variances and initiates appropriate plans for management.
  • Effectively uses data and outcome information from various systems and sources.
  • Ensures continued readiness regarding accreditation and regulatory requirements, and in particular, ensures compliance with EMTALA regulations.
  • Responsible for the general upkeep of the physical facilities and patient care equipment.
  • Leads implementation of technology and other assigned projects.
