About The Position

Bienvivir All-Inclusive Senior Health (“Bienvivir”) is a community-based, patient-centered, comprehensive health care delivery system that advocates and promotes quality of life, optimum independence, dignity, and choices in a nurturing environment for frail seniors. Since 1987, Bienvivir has served the frail seniors of El Paso, Texas through the provision of the Program of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly (“PACE”). PACE is a unique managed care benefit for frail seniors (referred to as participants) age 55 and older who are certified by the state as needing nursing home level care and who reside in a PACE service area. PACE programs coordinate and provide comprehensive medical and support services so that participants can remain independent and stay in their homes for as long as safely possible. Under the direct supervision of the Clinic Manager, the Data Entry Clerk provides supportive clerical services for participant care in the clinic. Responsible for creating and maintaining electronic medical records and data bases on each participant.

Requirements

  • Minimum 1 year experience performing data entry.
  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • CPR certified

Responsibilities

  • Enters clinic related demographic data into the EMR including participant allergies and medication status.
  • Schedules all participant clinic appointments to include interval Assessments, reassessments and triage appointments for the Participant Manger and PCP.
  • Coordinates with multiple members of the IDT to include Social Work and Intake to schedule family conferences, visitor, and new enrollment appointments.
  • Coordinates with the Clinic Manager and Psychiatrist to schedule psychiatry appointments
  • Ensures all new enrollments, interval assessments and reassessments are scheduled for care planning in the determined time frame and distributes the weekly and monthly schedules to the Interdisciplinary Team.
  • Initiates transportation requests for all clinic appointments and to hold all participants that are not able to attend the center for medical reasons.
  • Maintains and distributes daily, weekly, and monthly reports to appropriate personnel and departments to include various reports to Infection Control and Quality Improvement departments for CMS submission
  • Obtains ER, hospitalization, and ambulance transport information to enter HPMS data for CMS submission and billing authorization purposes.
  • Maintains data base for all respite and temporary SNF/ALF placements for billing authorization.
  • Answers phones calls, takes messages, and directs calls, as needed to assist the Consult LVN.
  • Cross trained to cover for the Unit Clerk and/or help with other clerical duties including Progress Note Clerk duties when needed.
  • Assist Physicians and clinic staff to create specialty reports as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned by Clinic manager.
