The Clinical Data Coordinator provides data, analytical, administrative, and operational support across multiple Hoag departments and programs. The role collects and analyzes data, collaborates with team members on leadership priorities, benchmarks performance metrics using internal and external databases, and resolves data discrepancies. Responsibilities vary by program. In Infection Prevention, Women’s COE Administration, and Nursing Education, the coordinator serves as a liaison among departments, external organizations, and leadership; coordinates cross-functional initiatives; analyzes clinical and qualitative data for quality improvement; develops and maintains metric-tracking solutions; and supports the Magnet Re-Designation survey and writing process. For Neurosciences Administration, the role supports operations, regulatory requirements, efficiency, quality, and goals established by regulatory and certifying bodies and data registries. In the Breast Care & Imaging Center, the coordinator ensures exams are scheduled, coded, and charged correctly, reconciles MagView and Epic, and manages the Charge Master. Laboratory duties include developing quality indicators and success metrics; supporting the revenue cycle, contract negotiations, and RFP development and scoring; developing A3s, business plans, and pro formas; facilitating interdisciplinary meetings; and supporting process improvement, lean initiatives, and staff development. The coordinator also supports Sepsis Program operations and regulatory requirements, coordinates cross-functional initiatives to achieve Value Index and program-specific goals, monitors project effectiveness, identifies root causes, develops practical solutions, and negotiates resolutions. For Quality Management, the coordinator supports the SURFS application and its users across the Hoag Enterprise, helping improve safety, efficiency, quality, and regulatory compliance through data collection, analysis, benchmarking, and discrepancy resolution. For the Diabetes Center, the role develops and expands data-driven programs to improve diabetes care, establishes performance metrics from inpatient and outpatient data, identifies improvement opportunities, and measures clinical, operational, and strategic initiatives. The coordinator develops patient registries for population health, program development, research, and identification of patients for emerging diagnostic and therapeutic pathways. A major focus is creating an autoimmune diabetes antibody screening program, including identifying at-risk populations, developing screening and follow-up registries, and measuring outcomes. The role also supports research data analysis and recruitment for clinical studies and builds data infrastructure to evaluate clinical impact, demonstrate value, and inform strategic growth.
