About The Position

The Respiratory Clinical Coordinator functions in coordinating Respiratory Services continuing education, monitoring and updating policy and procedures, and performance improvement activities. This role acts as a resource person in relation to current standards of practice for Respiratory Therapy. The position involves working collaboratively with the Manager and other members of the management teams in assessing and evaluating services provided by the departments, and practicing within the scope of current Respiratory Therapy guideline policies and procedures. The coordinator assesses learning needs within patient care settings to plan, organize, coordinate, and participate in the development of programs to meet those needs, thereby facilitating the professional growth of Respiratory associates and assuring departmental competencies and educational needs are met. The role also ensures the completion of orientation for all new employees and provides direct patient care for supplemental staffing needs. Additionally, the Clinical Coordinator acts in a supervisory capacity in the absence of the Director, when requested.

Requirements

  • Ohio Respiratory Care Professional License to practice in the State of Ohio
  • National Board of Respiratory Care credential indicating RRT
  • Five years of experience in all aspects of Respiratory Care
  • Effective Communication Skills
  • Maintains current BLS and NRP certification
  • Demonstrates leadership abilities, human relation skills, decision making, ability to generate ideas and innovations in a patient-oriented Respiratory Services department
