Requirements

  • Minimum of two years respiratory therapy experience required.
  • Associate's degree in respiratory care required.
  • Respiratory Care Practitioner License in Nebraska required.
  • Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) required.
  • Demonstrated effective verbal and written communication skills required.
  • Demonstrated ability to instruct and collaborate with others required.
  • Ability to balance and prioritize diverse clinical responsibilities required.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required, must be from an American Heart Association (AHA) endorsed program (effective for new hires starting January 1, 2023 or later).
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) required.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Experience with competency development and training preferred.
  • Experience with quality assurance and policy processes preferred.
  • Computer experience with information systems management preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for assessing and initiating patient care needs within evidence-based and/or best practice respiratory care guidelines; communicating effectively with all interdisciplinary teams.
  • Participate in discharge planning and/or ambulatory care in collaboration with the care transition team and/or durable medical equipment companies.
  • Provide cardiopulmonary education and/or training to patients, caregivers and health care team members.
