About The Position

The Clinical Assistant assists registered nurses, advanced practice providers, physicians, and other providers in an ambulatory urgent care setting. The role provides direct patient care to support Essentia Health’s mission and goals, performs procedures for which competency has been demonstrated, and cares for patients from newborns through older adults as indicated by age-related category. This is a casual position.

Requirements

• Hold one of the following credentials: current Medical Assistant registration or certification; completion of a Medical Assistant program with certification obtained within one year of hire (must pass certification within two attempts); or current LPN licensure in the relevant state.
• Medical Assistant/LPN: hold Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification or be able to obtain it within three months.

Responsibilities

• Assist RNs, APPs, physicians, and other providers in the ambulatory care setting.
• Provide direct patient care.
• Perform identified procedures for which competencies have been demonstrated.
• Care for patients ranging in age from newborn to elderly, as noted in the age-related category.
