The Department of Psychiatry & Behavioral Sciences at the Medical University of South Carolina is seeking a psychiatrist for its Women’s Reproductive Behavioral Health Division, with interest and experience in perinatal and reproductive psychiatry. The role integrates mental health care into obstetrics and gynecology through education, consultation, and clinical services, including telepsychiatry. Clinical work includes prescribing and managing medications, providing psychotherapeutic treatments, and collaborating with physicians, psychologists, social workers, and other professionals. The position includes teaching and supervision of medical students, residents, fellows, and other trainees. Scholarly work is encouraged, and research opportunities in perinatal psychiatry are available. The division is also interested in expanding reproductive psychiatry services across the reproductive lifespan, including menses and menopause. The role offers an opportunity to participate in Moms IMPACTT, a statewide program supporting patients and healthcare providers in identifying and managing maternal mental health and substance use concerns among pregnant and postpartum women in South Carolina. Faculty members are expected to provide high-quality clinical care and education, contribute to scholarship and research, collaborate across the university and multidisciplinary teams, and participate in departmental activities and policies. Other responsibilities and clinical duties may be assigned.
