About The Position

Texas A&M International University (TAMIU), a member of the Texas A&M University System, is seeking a Clinical Assistant Professor of Nursing to begin Spring 2027. TAMIU is a Hispanic Serving Institution located in Laredo, Texas, dedicated to advancing knowledge through research, teaching, learning, community engagement, and public service with a focus on student success and research excellence. This is a full-time, non-tenure track, 9-month academic faculty appointment. The Dr. F.M. Canseco School of Nursing is an accredited program by the Accreditation Commission for Nursing Education (ACEN) and is approved by the Texas Board of Nursing (TBON).

Requirements

• Earned master's degree in nursing
• Two or more years of clinical nursing experience
• Current unrestricted/unencumbered license to practice registered nursing within the state of Texas
• Advanced practice nurses should meet and have all certification required for the specialty

Nice To Haves

• Earned doctorate in nursing from an accredited university
• ABD candidates will be considered
• One or more years of teaching experience in higher education

Responsibilities

• Teaching assigned nursing courses
• Supervising student clinical experiences
• Evaluating students' progress in course work and clinical experience
• Completing all administrative aspects of courses taught
• Advising students throughout their program of studies, as appropriate
• Planning, developing, implementing, and evaluating the curriculum, as appropriate
• Serving on and participating in college and university committees
• Providing service to the community and profession
