This position is a Clinical Assistant Professor, a 12-month, non-tenure-track appointment in the School of Nursing. This position will teach, advise, mentor, and evaluate students throughout the nursing program. Nursing faculty also engage in service to the university, community, and nursing profession. A small percentage of the position assists research projects and/or is involved in scholarly work. This position is governed by state and federal laws, and agency/institution policy.

Requirements

• A bachelor's degree in nursing and currently enrolled in a master's degree in nursing program; OR A master's degree with a major in nursing; OR A doctoral degree with a major in nursing; OR A doctoral degree (Ph.D. or EdD), and a masters in nursing
• A current, unencumbered Arkansas or multi-state RN license from a compact state or the ability to obtain Arkansas licensure prior to position start date
• Maintain in-state residency during employment
• Ability to teach and mentor students throughout the nursing program. Teaching may include clinical, face-to-face, online, and/or hybrid formats
• Ability to work with a varied population
• Computer literacy and experience
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, which may include evenings, nights, and weekends
• Ability to travel occasionally, which may include overnight stays
• Ability to drive a motor vehicle and possess a valid driver's license
• Ability to maintain scheduled on-campus office days
• Proof of legal authority to work in the United States on the first day of employment

Nice To Haves

• Doctoral degree in Nursing or related field; or current enrollment in a doctoral program
• Teaching experience and recent experience in nursing practice or nursing education in the area(s) of program need
• CNE Certification

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate consistent excellent/above average evaluations from students, peers, and Director with evidence of continued professional role development
• Provide leadership in curriculum development, implementation, evaluation, and revision while developing new instructional materials and strategies
• Conduct ongoing assessment of teaching methodologies and use assessment data to improve student learning outcomes and synthesize didactic/clinical content
• Actively participate in program effectiveness evaluation and integrate research, technology, and assessment within teaching role
• Communicate effectively with staff, students, peers, agency personnel, and administration while serving as faculty/peer mentor
• Demonstrate effective leadership, collegiality, and collaboration with School, University, and external communities of interest
• Lead School committees focused on program improvement, particularly related to clinical experiences, and serve as Chair/leader on College and University committees
• Develop and implement community/professional service activities linked to identified needs and lead state/national professional organizations or serve as accreditation evaluator/consultant
• Collaborate with intradisciplinary/interdisciplinary colleagues in initiating and conducting research/program projects using research as foundation for scholarly work
• Consistently present scholarly papers at state, national, or international meetings and publish in peer-reviewed journals
• Teach, advise, mentor, and evaluate students throughout the nursing program
• Engage in service to the university, community, and nursing profession
• Assist research projects and/or be involved in scholarly work
