Texas A&M International University (TAMIU), a member of the Texas A&M University System, is seeking a Clinical Assistant/Associate Professor and Director of the Medical Lab Sciences Program. This is a full-time, non-tenure-track, 12-month appointment with both administrative and teaching responsibilities. The role involves providing leadership for the BSMLS program, including its implementation, administration, assessment, and continuous improvement. The Director will support programmatic accreditation, maintain compliance with standards, and develop, implement, assess, and revise curriculum and learning outcomes. Responsibilities include teaching undergraduate Medical Laboratory Science courses, fostering student-centered learning, and recruiting, advising, and mentoring students, particularly those from diverse backgrounds. The Director will also assist with faculty recruitment, hiring, and evaluation, and develop partnerships with healthcare organizations and clinical affiliates for student learning experiences and workforce development. Coordination of student clinical education experiences and professional preparation activities is also a key duty. Service activities at various levels are expected, along with other duties assigned by the Chair of Health Sciences. This position requires regular on-campus presence. The selected candidate will contribute to the growth of health sciences at TAMIU and the BSMLS program, focusing on student success, workforce development, and healthcare needs in South Texas and the border region.
