About The Position

The ideal candidate will provide expertise and oversite of TMSA Charter Schools health services. Promote health education because healthy students are successful learners. The school's nurse advocates for the physical, emotional, mental, and social health of students.

Requirements

• CPR/First aid certification
• Minimum of high school diploma
• Computer skills should include, at a minimum, keyboarding, email, databases, Word, and Excel

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor’s degree preferred

Responsibilities

• Perform a critical role within the TMSA Charter Schools health program
• Address major health problems experienced by staff and children
• Understand the TMSA Charter School health care plan to ensure coordinated care.
• May serve on IEP or 504 teams if the student has medical needs
• Provide preventive and screening services, health education, and assistance
• Provide interventions for acute and chronic illness, injuries and emergencies, communicable diseases, obesity, substance use and abuse, mental health, dental disease, nutrition
• Assist families and students in finding medical treatment (health insurance programs)
