About The Position
University of St. Thomas is seeking energetic Adjunct Clinical Instructors for its Accelerated Bachelor of Science in Nursing (ABSN) program in the Sugarland area. The primary responsibility is educating ABSN students in a clinical setting. Instructors are assigned clinical teaching responsibilities and contribute to students’ development of clinical skills, standards of practice, and critical thinking. The role is accountable to the Director, Nursing Services of the ABSN program.
Requirements
- Master’s degree in nursing.
- At least two years of successful clinical nursing practice.
- Current, unencumbered RN license in Texas or another compact state.
- Ability to work 12-hour shifts in a clinical setting if required.
Nice To Haves
- At least two years of teaching experience is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Facilitate effective student learning in the assigned clinical setting.
- Guide students in the clinical setting regarding professionalism, practice, and research.
- Select and organize learning activities that support students’ attainment of course objectives.
- Evaluate student practice effectively.
- Promote evidence-based practice.
- Provide a supportive learning environment and give supervisory personnel feedback on student progress.
- Collaborate with faculty, administration, the healthcare partner, and its staff.
- Attend required orientation, training, and faculty meetings.
