About The Position

The Clinic Surgical Scheduler/ Certified Medical Assistant works at The Center for Pain Relief in Harlingen, Texas. This full-time position is scheduled for day shifts consisting of 8-hour shifts. The role combines patient care and clinical support with appointment scheduling and medical-record management. Candidates must hold Medical Assistant certification from the National Healthcare Association or another nationally recognized organization. The employer offers programs to help employees obtain Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Requirements

Medical Assistant certification from the National Healthcare Association or another nationally recognized organization.
Current BLS (AHA) certificate upon hire and maintenance of current certification.
At least one year of work experience in a public-contact job.
High school diploma or equivalent, or relevant experience, for new hires effective April 2014.

Nice To Haves

Work experience in health care is preferred.

Responsibilities

Greet and prepare patients for orthopedic examinations and procedures.
Record patient history, vital signs, and orthopedic-specific information.
Instruct patients on pre-operative and post-operative care and medication regimens.
Assist with orthopedic procedures, including bandaging, splinting, and wound care.
Facilitate diagnostic and imaging tests, such as X-rays and MRIs, and ensure accurate documentation of results.
Prepare and maintain examination rooms, including sterilization and inventory management of medical supplies and equipment.
Schedule patient appointments, manage charts, and update electronic health record (EHR) systems with patient information.
