About The Position

The Clinic Registered Nurse (RN) oversees medical care for patients while implementing high standards of care consistent with clinic office and medical policies and procedures. The position assists physicians with procedures, collects and processes samples, sterilizes equipment, administers medications, supports professional nursing standards, maintains treatment-room supplies and medication records, and documents patient assessments and vital signs.

Requirements

• Associate’s degree in Nursing (ASN) or Nursing Diploma.
• Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in the State of Florida.
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support (AHA BLS) Healthcare Provider Completion Card before the start date, maintained thereafter.
• Ability to pass colorblind testing to perform point-of-care tests requiring color change.
• For hires into Memory Disorder Clinic or Health First Aging: satisfy the State of Florida Agency for Healthcare Administration (ACHA) Level 2 background screening.

Responsibilities

• Assist physicians with procedures as instructed.
• Collect blood and other samples using applicable sterile techniques, complete the correct paperwork, and send samples to the appropriate laboratory for processing.
• Sterilize equipment and instruments using proper techniques and operate standard clinic equipment.
• Administer medications as ordered, document administration, and call prescriptions in to area pharmacies when requested by a physician.
• Work cooperatively with ancillary nursing and patient-team personnel to maintain standards for professional nursing practice in the clinical setting.
• Maintain treatment-room stock, rotate dated medications and supplies, and keep accurate documentation of narcotic drugs and the crash cart.
• Document patient vital signs, drug allergies, and descriptions of patient complaints in patient charts.
• Perform other duties as requested by area supervisors and area personnel.
