About The Position

The LPN Gastroenterology caregiver provides professional nursing care to a diverse patient population at Cleveland Clinic West Palm Beach, collaborating with fellow caregivers and working in conjunction with an RN or physician. The role offers hands-on clinical experience, ongoing education, and professional development while supporting patient health and well-being across the lifespan. The position works days, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

The role includes assessing, planning, coordinating, monitoring, and evaluating patient progress throughout the continuum of care. The caregiver works primarily indoors in air-conditioned areas and may have significant exposure to blood and blood-borne pathogens. Clinical care requires personal protective equipment, including gloves, masks, gowns, and goggles as appropriate, and adherence to Standard Precautions.

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited LPN program.
• Florida Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross.
• Knowledge of infection control practices.
• Computer literacy.

Nice To Haves

• One year of clinical experience.
• EPIC experience.
• One year of outpatient experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide professional nursing care to patients.
• Administer medication.
• Maintain complete, accurate, and up-to-date documentation in medical records and files.
• Complete authorization forms and laboratory requisitions.
• Implement pain management assessments and documentation.
• Adhere to National Patient Safety Goals as outlined by JCAHO.
• Follow Code Blue protocol.
• Assess, plan, coordinate, monitor, and evaluate patient progress through the continuum of care in conjunction with an RN or physician.
• Follow Standard Precautions and use personal protective equipment as required for procedures.
